Description
These crunchy, fiery crackers are the ultimate Southern-inspired snack, perfectly seasoned with bold spices and a tangy twist. They’re the kind of party bite you can’t stop munching on once you start.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box of saltine crackers (about 4 sleeves)
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 packet ranch dressing seasoning mix
- 1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to preference)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, ranch seasoning, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, and onion powder until well blended.
- Add in the crackers and gently toss to coat each one thoroughly. Using your hands can help ensure even coverage.
- Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lay the crackers out in a single, even layer.
- Bake for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes to help them brown evenly and get extra crisp.
- Let the crackers cool completely before storing in an airtight container. They’ll stay crispy and flavorful for up to a week.
Notes
To dial up the heat, increase the amount of crushed red pepper or add cayenne. Smoked paprika or a splash of lime juice also adds a delicious twist. Be sure crackers are fully cooled before storing to maintain their crunch.
