Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for a perfectly baked crust.
- In a large bowl, whisk together corn syrup, sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla until fully combined.
- Add in the chopped pecans and chocolate chips, mixing until evenly incorporated.
- Carefully pour the filling into your pie crust and smooth the surface with a spatula.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the center is set and a knife comes out clean.
- Let the pie cool entirely to allow the filling to set before slicing.
Notes
For an extra chocolate boost, drizzle a bit of chocolate syrup into the mix before baking. This pie keeps well in the fridge for up to three days. If you’re looking for a savory complement, check out my homemade crab cakes recipe.
