Description
A warm, crusty bread bowl filled with a rich and creamy seafood blend, perfect for cozy nights, family feasts, or a show-stopping party dish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large round sourdough or French bread loaf
- 1 cup cooked shrimp, chopped (or substitute with crab or lobster)
- 1 cup imitation crab meat, torn
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or any cheese you love)
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped (or 1 tablespoon dried)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Chopped chives or parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully hollow out the bread loaf, leaving about an inch of bread around the inside. Save the removed bread for dipping or breadcrumbs.
- In a mixing bowl, combine shrimp, crab meat, cream cheese, sour cream, mayo, and shredded cheese. Stir until smooth.
- Add dill, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until evenly incorporated.
- Spoon mixture into the hollowed bread bowl. Place any leftover mix in a small baking dish.
- Bake both the bread bowl and extra mixture for 25–30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top.
- Let cool briefly. Garnish with chives or parsley and serve warm.
Notes
For extra flavor, add diced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce. Leftover filling is great stuffed into peppers or spooned over baked potatoes.
