Description
There’s nothing like a homemade stuffed crust pepperoni pizza to make pizza night feel extra special. Melty cheese inside the crust, classic pepperoni, and golden edges make this a comfort food favorite.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 8 sticks of string cheese
- 1 cup pepperoni slices
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) to get the crust crispy and golden.
- Roll the pizza dough into a large circle on a floured surface, wide enough for stuffing the crust.
- Line the edge of the dough with string cheese sticks, fold the dough over them, and pinch to seal the crust.
- Spread pizza sauce over the center of the dough, avoiding the stuffed edge.
- Top with shredded mozzarella and layer the pepperoni slices evenly.
- Brush the crust with olive oil and sprinkle on Italian seasoning and garlic powder.
- Bake on a pizza stone or baking sheet for 15-20 minutes, until golden and bubbly.
- Optional: Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the top right after baking.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
Make sure the stuffed edges are sealed tight to keep the cheese from escaping during baking. Try adding jalapeños or banana peppers for extra heat.
