Steak Bites and Shrimp Skewers

Description

Juicy steak bites paired with succulent shrimp and colorful vegetables on skewers, grilled to perfection for a flavorful meal or appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 medium red onion, cut into wedges
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Skewers (soak in water for 30 minutes if wooden)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and pepper to make the marinade.
  2. Add steak cubes to the marinade and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably overnight.
  3. Add shrimp to the marinade and let sit for 15 minutes.
  4. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Thread steak, shrimp, bell peppers, and onion onto skewers in an alternating pattern.
  5. Grill skewers for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until steak is cooked to your liking and shrimp are pink and opaque.
  6. Remove from grill and let rest a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Avoid overcooking shrimp; they should be pink and opaque. For variety, add zucchini, mushrooms, or cherry tomatoes. These skewers can also be baked at 400°F for 15-20 minutes.
