Description

These spooky Spider Brownies are a chocolate lover’s dream, fudgy, rich, and topped with fun edible spiders, perfect for Halloween or any festive get-together!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Edible black spiders (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk melted butter with both sugars until smooth.
  3. Mix in eggs one at a time, stirring well between each. Add vanilla extract and combine.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined; don’t overmix.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Spread the batter evenly in the greased pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Let brownies cool for 15 minutes before slicing. Decorate with edible spiders for a spooky finish.

Notes

Try folding in chopped nuts or a bit of espresso powder for extra depth. Brownies can be wrapped and frozen for several weeks, great for make-ahead treats.
