Description
Juicy shrimp tossed in a bold Cajun spice blend, simmered to perfection with garlic, lemon, and a splash of broth. It’s a Southern classic that delivers heat, flavor, and comfort all in one bite.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined (around 20 to 25 shrimp)
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup chicken broth or white wine
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large bowl, toss the shrimp with Cajun seasoning, minced garlic, and a pinch of salt. Let sit for 15 minutes to marinate and develop flavor.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side, until they turn pink and opaque.
- Pour in chicken broth or white wine and stir gently. Let everything simmer for 3 to 5 minutes so the flavors come together. Finish with lemon juice.
- Remove from heat and top with chopped parsley. Serve over pasta, rice, or alongside your favorite vegetables.
Notes
For a sweeter twist, add diced bell peppers and onions. If you’re serving kids, leave out the spice and let adults add hot sauce at the table. You can easily double the batch—leftovers are just as tasty!
