Description

This Southern Banana Cobbler is a nostalgic and delicious dessert packed with the sweetness of ripe bananas and warm cinnamon, topped with a golden buttery crust. It’s the perfect comfort food for family get-togethers or a cozy evening at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe bananas, sliced (around 2 cups)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix melted butter and sugar together in a bowl until smooth.
  3. Add flour, milk, baking powder, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt. Stir until the batter is smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish. Layer banana slices over the top.
  5. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, ideally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Add chopped nuts for a bit of crunch, or stir in chocolate chips for a twist. Store leftovers in the fridge up to 3 days and reheat before serving.
