- 1/2 cup sour cream

- 2 cups (240 grams) powdered sugar (for frosting)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
- 2 tablespoons milk (for frosting)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter with sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Mix in the sour cream until fully incorporated.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Using a cookie scoop or spoons, place dough onto prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
- Lightly shape each mound with damp fingers to form rounds.
- Bake for 11 minutes or until the bottoms are lightly golden.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- For the frosting, beat softened butter until smooth.
- Gradually add powdered sugar, beating until fluffy.
- Stir in vanilla and milk until the frosting reaches desired consistency.
- Frost cooled cookies and decorate as desired.
Notes
Customize with food coloring, sprinkles, or alternative frostings. Store frosted cookies in the fridge and unfrosted ones at room temp. Freeze unfrosted cookies and frost after thawing for best results.
