Ingredients

  • 1 medium head of cabbage, chopped (or use kale for a change)
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium bell pepper, sliced (any color)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil (or olive oil)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: red pepper flakes for heat

Instructions

  1. Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage and cook for 5–7 minutes until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  2. Add sliced onion and minced garlic. Sauté for 2–3 minutes until soft and fragrant.
  3. Stir in chopped cabbage and sliced bell pepper. Cook for 5–7 minutes until cabbage is tender but slightly crisp.
  4. Pour in soy sauce and stir everything together. Season with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Let cook for another minute.
  5. Serve hot. Enjoy as-is or with rice or noodles!
