Description
This Philly Cheesesteak Cheesy Bread takes all the beloved flavors of the classic sandwich and turns them into a warm, melty, crowd-pleasing appetizer or main. It’s easy, quick, and always a hit!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 loaf of Italian bread (French bread or hoagie roll works too)
- 1 pound thinly sliced ribeye steak (or sub with chicken/turkey)
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese (mozzarella or cheddar are great swaps)
- 1 cup cooked onions and bell peppers (fresh or frozen)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions and bell peppers until soft, around 4-5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Move veggies to the side of the skillet, add the steak, and cook until browned and done to your liking, about 3-4 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the bread lengthwise and place cut side up on a baking sheet.
- Spread the steak and veggie mixture over both halves of the bread.
- Top with shredded provolone cheese, covering the entire surface generously.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes or until cheese is fully melted and edges of bread are golden and crisp.
- Let cool slightly before slicing and serving warm.
Notes
Grill the steak for added smoky flavor. Feel free to toss in mushrooms, jalapeños, or a splash of Worcestershire sauce. Leftovers? Wrap in foil and reheat at 350°F for about 10 minutes.
