Description

Ingredients

  • 1 package pizza dough (store-bought or homemade, enough for 68 rolls)
  • 8 oz pepperoni slices (turkey pepperoni works too)
  • 8 oz shredded mozzarella (or provolone)
  • 1 egg (for optional egg wash)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (or herbs of choice)
  • Olive oil (for greasing the baking sheet)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet with olive oil.
  2. Roll out dough on a floured surface into a 1/4-inch thick rectangle.
  3. Layer pepperoni evenly across the dough, leaving a small border.
  4. Top with shredded mozzarella and a sprinkle of Italian seasoning.
  5. Roll dough tightly from the long edge into a log and pinch the seams shut.
  6. Cut the log into 1-inch thick slices and place them cut-side up on the baking sheet.
  7. For a golden finish, brush tops with beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 15–20 minutes, until golden and puffed.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving. Great with marinara for dipping.

Notes

Avoid overstuffing the rolls to prevent leaking. Let them rest a few minutes out of the oven so the cheese sets nicely. They freeze well, just reheat at 375°F for 15–20 minutes. Garlic butter brushing adds extra flavor. Try blending mozzarella with cheddar for a fun twist!
