Description
These cheesy, savory pepperoni rolls are an easy-to-make crowd-pleaser, perfect for parties, game nights, or just a cozy snack at home.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package pizza dough (store-bought or homemade, enough for 6–8 rolls)
- 8 oz pepperoni slices (turkey pepperoni works too)
- 8 oz shredded mozzarella (or provolone)
- 1 egg (for optional egg wash)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning (or herbs of choice)
- Olive oil (for greasing the baking sheet)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet with olive oil.
- Roll out dough on a floured surface into a 1/4-inch thick rectangle.
- Layer pepperoni evenly across the dough, leaving a small border.
- Top with shredded mozzarella and a sprinkle of Italian seasoning.
- Roll dough tightly from the long edge into a log and pinch the seams shut.
- Cut the log into 1-inch thick slices and place them cut-side up on the baking sheet.
- For a golden finish, brush tops with beaten egg.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes, until golden and puffed.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Great with marinara for dipping.
Notes
Avoid overstuffing the rolls to prevent leaking. Let them rest a few minutes out of the oven so the cheese sets nicely. They freeze well, just reheat at 375°F for 15–20 minutes. Garlic butter brushing adds extra flavor. Try blending mozzarella with cheddar for a fun twist!
