Description
Discover the ease and flavor of oven-baked steak – a juicy, tender, and flavorful alternative to grilling that’s perfect for any night of the week.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds ribeye steak – or your favorite cut; sirloin is a leaner option
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic – minced or crushed
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary – chopped; parsley works too
- 1 tablespoon thyme – chopped; dried thyme also works
- Salt and pepper – to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Pat the steak dry using paper towels to help achieve a flavorful sear.
- Mix olive oil, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Rub the mixture generously over the steak.
- Place the steak on a roasting pan, ensuring there’s space around it for heat to circulate.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes depending on desired doneness. For medium-rare, target an internal temp of 130°F (54°C).
- Let the steak rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing so juices can redistribute for extra tenderness.
Notes
Consider marinating the steak a few hours ahead to deepen the flavor. Don’t skimp on seasoning – bold flavors bring out the best in any cut. If cooking for a crowd, double the ingredients but be sure the steaks have room to roast evenly.
