- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup Nutella
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Blend in Nutella until smooth.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry, mixing until the batter is smooth and lump-free.
- Pour the batter into the cake pan and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Try adding a pinch of espresso powder to the batter to intensify the chocolate flavor. To go extra decadent, slice the cake in half and add a Nutella layer between.
