- 1 pound elbow macaroni
- 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese blend)
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1 store-bought pizza crust (or homemade)
- Optional toppings: sliced tomatoes, crispy bacon, or cooked ground beef
Instructions
- Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the elbow macaroni until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika to create a roux. Cook for 1–2 minutes until slightly golden.
- Slowly whisk in the milk to avoid lumps and cook until the sauce thickens, about 5–7 minutes.
- Take off the heat and stir in the cheddar and Parmesan cheeses until fully melted and smooth.
- Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir to combine.
- Preheat your oven as directed on your pizza crust packaging.
- Roll out or place the pizza crust onto a baking sheet or pizza stone. Spread the mac and cheese mixture evenly over the top.
- Add any desired toppings and sprinkle with extra cheese if you like it extra cheesy.
- Bake according to pizza crust instructions or until bubbly and golden brown, typically 15–20 minutes.
- Allow to cool slightly, then slice and enjoy your mac and cheese pizza masterpiece.
Notes
