Mac and Cheese Pizza

  • Author: Navy Sinclair
  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 8 slices 1x

Description

Take your comfort food game up a notch with this irresistible Mac and Cheese Pizza. It’s the perfect fusion of two family favorites, creamy mac and cheese spread over a crispy pizza crust and baked to cheesy perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound elbow macaroni
  • 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese blend)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 store-bought pizza crust (or homemade)
  • Optional toppings: sliced tomatoes, crispy bacon, or cooked ground beef

Instructions

  1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the elbow macaroni until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika to create a roux. Cook for 1–2 minutes until slightly golden.
  3. Slowly whisk in the milk to avoid lumps and cook until the sauce thickens, about 5–7 minutes.
  4. Take off the heat and stir in the cheddar and Parmesan cheeses until fully melted and smooth.
  5. Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir to combine.
  6. Preheat your oven as directed on your pizza crust packaging.
  7. Roll out or place the pizza crust onto a baking sheet or pizza stone. Spread the mac and cheese mixture evenly over the top.
  8. Add any desired toppings and sprinkle with extra cheese if you like it extra cheesy.
  9. Bake according to pizza crust instructions or until bubbly and golden brown, typically 15–20 minutes.
  10. Allow to cool slightly, then slice and enjoy your mac and cheese pizza masterpiece.

Notes

Try sprinkling panko breadcrumbs on top for added crunch before baking. Leftovers reheat well in the oven, and feel free to use different pasta shapes like shells or penne for a fun twist.
