Description
These Hot Italian Sliders are loaded with savory sausage, gooey provolone, zesty marinara, and fresh basil, all tucked into soft buns and baked until golden and melty. Perfect for parties, game days, or a fun family dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 soft mini slider buns
- 1 pound Italian sausage (or turkey sausage for a lighter option)
- 6 slices provolone cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- A handful of fresh basil, chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Parmesan cheese, for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it into small pieces. Stir in garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
- Slice slider buns in half horizontally and place the bottom halves on a baking sheet.
- Layer the cooked sausage over the bottom buns, then spoon marinara sauce on top.
- Place a slice of provolone on each slider and sprinkle with chopped basil.
- Cover with the top halves of the buns.
- Brush the tops with olive oil and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until cheese is melted and tops are lightly golden.
- Remove from oven, slice into individual sliders, and serve warm.
Notes
For a lighter version, use turkey sausage or whole wheat buns. Don’t skip the fresh basil—it ties the flavors together beautifully. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
