  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Warm sesame oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Add the chicken to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
  3. Pour in the honey and soy sauce. Mix thoroughly so the chicken is coated with the glaze.
  4. Stir in the broccoli, cover, and let steam for 3–5 minutes until it becomes tender-crisp and vibrant green.
  5. If you’d like a thicker sauce, mix the cornstarch with a splash of water, then stir it into the pan. Cook for another 1–2 minutes until thickened.
  6. Finish by sprinkling toasted sesame seeds over the dish just before serving.

Notes

For extra crunch, add chopped cashews or peanuts as a garnish. This dish reheats well and makes a great meal prep option. To save time, you can also use pre-cooked rotisserie chicken and simply warm it in the sauce.
