Description

Craving comfort in a bowl? This Homemade Lasagna Hamburger Helper has you covered. Rich tomato sauce, savory beef, and gooey cheese come together for a one-pan pasta dinner everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 8 ounces uncooked elbow macaroni (or gluten-free alternative)
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with chopped onion and garlic until fully browned. Drain off any extra grease.
  2. Add in marinara sauce, elbow macaroni, water, and Italian seasoning. Stir to combine, cover, and let simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Once the pasta is tender, remove from heat and gently stir in the ricotta cheese.
  4. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top. Cover for 5 minutes until melted, or broil briefly for a golden finish.

Notes

Try using ground turkey for a leaner twist. Stirring in fresh spinach or mushrooms adds extra nutrition and flavor.
