- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 8 ounces uncooked elbow macaroni (or gluten-free alternative)
- 2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with chopped onion and garlic until fully browned. Drain off any extra grease.
- Add in marinara sauce, elbow macaroni, water, and Italian seasoning. Stir to combine, cover, and let simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once the pasta is tender, remove from heat and gently stir in the ricotta cheese.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top. Cover for 5 minutes until melted, or broil briefly for a golden finish.
