Description
Soft, buttery, and charming, these Heart-Shaped Breadsticks are the perfect way to add a touch of love to any meal. Whether for a romantic night, a family dinner, or a special gathering, they’re as delightful to make as they are to eat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups warm water (about 110°F)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- Parsley or Italian seasoning for garnish
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- Add flour and salt, then mix in the melted butter. Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Transfer dough to a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm area for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down dough and roll it out to about 1/2-inch thick.
- Use a pizza cutter to slice dough into strips, twist each into a heart shape, and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with parsley or seasoning.
Notes
For a savory kick, add minced garlic to the melted butter. These are best fresh, but they’ll keep in an airtight container for 2-3 days. Try dipping them in marinara for a fun appetizer.
