- 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
- 1 package frozen tater tots (32 oz)
- 1/2 cup milk
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) while you prep the filling for the casserole.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground meat until browned. Drain excess fat. Stir in cream of mushroom soup, milk, frozen veggies, salt, and pepper.
- Transfer meat mixture into a 9×13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle cheddar cheese evenly on top.
- Layer the tater tots evenly across the top of the cheese.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes or until tots are golden and the filling is bubbling.
- Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving to set the layers properly.
Notes
You can substitute ground beef with turkey or chicken for a lighter version. Add green chilies or corn for a Southwestern touch. Don’t forget to let it cool slightly before digging in!
