Description

These Garlic Steak Foil Packets are a comforting, gourmet-style meal that’s surprisingly easy to make. Tender steak strips are cooked with veggies, garlic, and herbs, sealed in foil to lock in all the flavors.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds sirloin steak, trimmed and cut into strips (flank or ribeye work too)
  • 3 cups mixed bell peppers, sliced (red, green, yellow)
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced (or shallots)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon dried Italian herbs (or fresh)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Aluminum foil

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high or oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss steak strips, bell peppers, onion, garlic, olive oil, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper.
  3. Cut foil sheets (12×18 inches each) and spoon equal portions of the mixture into the center of each.
  4. Fold sides of the foil to seal packets securely.
  5. Place packets on the grill or in the oven and cook 20-25 minutes, until steak is cooked to your liking and veggies are tender.
  6. Carefully open packets (watch for steam) and serve straight from the foil or on plates.

Notes

Don’t overcrowd the foil packets to allow even cooking. Add smoked paprika for a smoky twist or try different veggies like zucchini, asparagus, or carrots. Packets can be prepped ahead and refrigerated until ready to cook.
