Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces of spaghetti or egg noodles
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 tablespoons minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium)
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
- Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Cook noodles according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic for about 2 minutes until aromatic, without letting it burn.
- Add soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), and sugar to the skillet. Stir to combine well.
- Mix in the cooked noodles and reserved pasta water, tossing until noodles are fully coated in the sauce.
- Top with green onions and freshly cracked black pepper. Serve hot, with Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
Add red pepper flakes if you like a spicy kick. You can include proteins like shrimp or chicken for a heartier dish. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days — they reheat well!
