Description

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces of spaghetti or egg noodles
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
  • Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook noodles according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic for about 2 minutes until aromatic, without letting it burn.
  3. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), and sugar to the skillet. Stir to combine well.
  4. Mix in the cooked noodles and reserved pasta water, tossing until noodles are fully coated in the sauce.
  5. Top with green onions and freshly cracked black pepper. Serve hot, with Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

Add red pepper flakes if you like a spicy kick. You can include proteins like shrimp or chicken for a heartier dish. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days — they reheat well!
