Rich, chocolatey brownies with a fudgy center, perfect for celebrating Memorial Day with friends, family, and a dash of patriotic spirit.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted (or substitute with coconut oil for a lighter taste)
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix melted butter with sugar until glossy and well combined.
- Stir in eggs and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing gently.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared dish and bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let brownies cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
Avoid overbaking to keep the brownies fudgy in the center. Let eggs come to room temperature for best mixing results. These freeze well for up to three months, just thaw before serving.
