Ingredients
Scale
- 1 bag Nacho Cheese Doritos (or your favorite flavor)
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Optional: garlic powder, paprika, or onion powder
Instructions
- Mix shredded cheese with any seasonings of your choice in a bowl.
- Crush Doritos into fine crumbs and set aside in a bowl.
- Set up dredging bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, one with crushed Doritos.
- Form tablespoon-sized cheese balls, then coat in flour, dip in egg, and roll in Dorito crumbs.
- Heat 1 inch of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Test heat by dropping in a breadcrumb—it should sizzle.
- Fry each cheese ball for 3–4 minutes per side, until golden and crisp. Turn gently to avoid breaking.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot!
Notes
For a spicy twist, try using pepper jack cheese or adding chopped jalapeños to the filling. You can also freeze the balls in advance and fry them straight from frozen for quick party prep!
