Ingredients

  • 1 medium head of cabbage, shredded
  • 1 pound of shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound of smoked sausage, sliced into rounds
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage slices and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until fragrant and translucent.
  3. Stir in the shredded cabbage and cook for 5-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is just tender.
  4. Add shrimp, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until shrimp are pink and cooked through.
  5. Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

Avoid overcooking the cabbage to prevent it from getting mushy. For a lighter version, use turkey or chicken sausage. Add bell peppers or carrots for extra nutrition. A squeeze of lemon juice at the end brightens the flavors beautifully.
