Description

Celebrate Independence Day with a colorful, gooey, and crunchy batch of Festive 4th of July Rice Krispie Treats. They’re a vibrant addition to your holiday table and a sure crowd-pleaser for guests of all ages.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 package (10 oz) mini marshmallows
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • Food coloring (red and blue)
  • 1 cup star-shaped sprinkles
  • Cooking spray or butter for greasing the pan

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir in the mini marshmallows until fully melted and smooth.
  2. Take the melted mixture off the heat and divide it evenly into three bowls. Add red food coloring to one bowl, blue to another, and leave the third bowl plain.
  3. Stir 2 cups of Rice Krispies into each bowl until evenly coated.
  4. Grease a 9×13 inch pan with butter or cooking spray. Press the red mixture into the bottom, then layer the white, and finish with the blue layer on top.
  5. Let the layered mixture set for about 30 minutes. Sprinkle the star-shaped sprinkles over the top before slicing into squares.

Notes

Avoid overheating the marshmallows to maintain that perfect gooey texture. Lightly press each layer to keep the treats airy and soft.
