Description
Looking for a nostalgic yet hearty dinner that’s quick to make? This Easy Homemade Beefaroni is a comforting blend of ground beef, macaroni, and savory tomato sauce, perfect for those jam-packed evenings. It’s the homemade upgrade your childhood favorite deserves.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups uncooked macaroni
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 (14-ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat, then add the diced onion and garlic. Sauté for about 3 minutes until the onion is soft.
- Mix in the uncooked macaroni, beef broth, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and Italian seasoning. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover, and let simmer for 15-20 minutes until the pasta is tender, stirring occasionally.
- If desired, sprinkle cheddar cheese over the top. Cover for a couple of minutes to allow it to melt.
Notes
Avoid overcooking the pasta to keep it al dente, and stir frequently for even cooking. Add bell peppers or swap the beef for ground turkey for a healthier twist. Leftovers reheat beautifully with a splash of broth or water.
