Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds pork shoulder – cut into small pieces (swap for chicken if preferred)
- 1 cup sliced ham
- 1 cup Swiss cheese – shredded
- 1/2 cup yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 12 slider rolls – preferably Hawaiian or King’s Hawaiian rolls
- 1/4 cup butter – melted
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
Instructions
- Season pork shoulder with garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes or overnight for deeper flavor.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium. Brown the pork on all sides for 5–7 minutes until a crust forms.
- Transfer pork and ham to a slow cooker. Lightly season, cover, and cook on low for 6–8 hours until tender.
- Shred the cooked pork and mix it back with the juices in the slow cooker.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place bottom halves of slider rolls in a baking dish. Spread mustard, layer shredded pork, ham, and Swiss cheese.
- Add top halves of rolls. Brush melted butter over the tops and sprinkle with garlic powder.
- Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 5–10 minutes until cheese is melted and tops are golden.
Notes
Add pickles to the sliders for an extra punch of flavor, or spice it up with jalapeños. These also freeze well, just wrap tightly and reheat in the oven when ready.
