Description

There’s just something irresistible about this Creamy Crab Imperial; it’s rich, savory, and bursting with the sweet flavor of lump crab meat. Whether it’s for a family dinner or your next elegant dinner party, this dish will be the star of the table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lump crab meat (fresh or canned)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning (or to taste)
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (for topping)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix mayonnaise, sour cream, cream cheese, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and Old Bay until smooth.
  3. Gently fold in crab meat, green onions, red bell pepper, and half of the cheese. Mix lightly to avoid breaking the crab.
  4. Transfer mixture to a baking dish. Sprinkle the rest of the cheese and breadcrumbs over the top.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and bubbly. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a spicy version, mix in hot sauce or chopped jalapeños. This dish can be made ahead and chilled, then baked when ready. You can even swap the crab with shrimp or lobster, or serve it inside avocado halves for a trendy spin.
