This elegant yet comforting dish is perfect for cozy family dinners or impressing guests at a special gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz fettuccine pasta (swap with whole wheat or gluten-free if preferred)
- 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter option)
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 lb lump crab meat (check for shells)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Cook fettuccine until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of the cooking water before draining.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Slowly whisk in Parmesan cheese until fully melted and smooth. Thin out with pasta water if needed.
- Gently fold in crab meat, stirring lightly so it remains chunky. Heat through.
- Add cooked pasta to the sauce and toss gently to coat evenly. Let simmer on low for 2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce. To prep in advance, store pasta and sauce separately, combining just before serving for best texture. Reheat leftovers slowly to avoid sauce separation.
