Creamiest Rice Pudding

Creamiest Rice Pudding

  • Author: Navy Sinclair
  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 6 to 8 servings 1x

Description

There’s something irresistibly cozy about a creamy bowl of rice pudding. This Creamiest Rice Pudding is my favorite go-to when I crave something warm, sweet, and comforting. Made with a rich blend of milks and a touch of vanilla, it’s a classic dessert that brings generations together.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup jasmine rice (or Arborio rice for extra creaminess)
  • 4 cups whole milk (or almond milk for dairy-free)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Ground cinnamon or nutmeg (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
  2. In a large saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, whole milk, heavy cream, sugar, and salt. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  3. Lower the heat and stir frequently. Let it simmer for 30 to 35 minutes, until the rice is tender and the pudding thickens.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Let it cool slightly.
  5. Serve warm or chilled, topped with a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg if desired.

Notes

For an extra indulgent flavor, simmer a cinnamon stick in the milk. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days, and reheat gently with a splash of milk. Feel free to experiment with extracts like almond or coconut for a twist.
