Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for the filling)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Bring the water and butter to a boil in a saucepan. Add flour and salt, stirring quickly until a dough forms and pulls away from the sides.
  2. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly. Beat in the eggs one by one until the dough is smooth and glossy.
  3. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spoon or pipe dough mounds spaced 2 inches apart.
  4. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden and puffed. Do not open the oven door while baking.
  5. Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
