  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for the cream cheese layer)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla, mixing until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  4. Spread half of the brownie batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  5. In another bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy and smooth.
  6. Spread the cream cheese layer over the brownie batter in the pan.
  7. Dollop remaining brownie batter over the cream cheese and swirl with a knife.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Avoid overbaking.
