Classic Guacamole Recipe

  • Author: Navy Sinclair
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

A creamy, zesty guacamole that’s perfect for parties, snacks, or as a topping. Fresh avocados, lime, and simple seasonings make this classic dip irresistible.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe avocados (or use extra creamy guacamole if preferred)
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped (red onion works beautifully)
  • 2 roma tomatoes, diced (cherry tomatoes for a sweeter twist)
  • 1 lime, juiced (fresh lime only)
  • 12 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt to taste (sea salt recommended)
  • Chopped cilantro, optional

Instructions

  1. Cut avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop into a mixing bowl. Mash with a fork until smooth or chunky, as desired.
  2. Add onion, tomatoes, garlic, lime juice, and salt. Mix gently to combine without over-mashing.
  3. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt or lime juice. Stir in cilantro if using.
  4. Transfer to a serving bowl, press plastic wrap directly on the surface to prevent browning, and chill for 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Avoid over-mashing for the best texture. Keep guacamole covered or chilled to prevent browning. Fresh is always best within 1-2 days.
