- 3 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup dried cherries (or fresh if preferred)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large saucepan over low heat. Add mini marshmallows and stir continuously until melted and smooth.
- Remove the pan from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Add Rice Krispies cereal in batches, mixing well until fully coated.
- Fold in chocolate chips and dried cherries until evenly distributed.
- With a buttered spatula, press the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch pan. Spread evenly and let cool at room temperature for 30 minutes.
- Once set, cut into squares and serve.
Notes
Use low heat to melt marshmallows to avoid them hardening. Press the mixture gently into the pan for a softer texture. For extra richness, drizzle melted chocolate on top before serving.
