Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium head of cabbage, shredded
- 2 cups carrots, julienned
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, break it apart, and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Add garlic and ginger, sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in cabbage and carrots. Cook 4-5 minutes until tender but still crisp.
- Pour in soy sauce and sesame oil. Mix well and cook for 1 more minute. Adjust seasoning if needed.
- Serve hot, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
Do not overcook the cabbage; keeping it slightly crunchy maintains nutrients and texture. For variety, add bell peppers, broccoli, or mushrooms. To spice it up, try a drizzle of sriracha or red pepper flakes.
