Description

A wholesome and flavorful stir-fry made with ground beef, fresh cabbage, and carrots. This quick and healthy dish is perfect for busy weeknights and will surely become a family favorite.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium head of cabbage, shredded
  • 2 cups carrots, julienned
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, break it apart, and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Add garlic and ginger, sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in cabbage and carrots. Cook 4-5 minutes until tender but still crisp.
  4. Pour in soy sauce and sesame oil. Mix well and cook for 1 more minute. Adjust seasoning if needed.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Do not overcook the cabbage; keeping it slightly crunchy maintains nutrients and texture. For variety, add bell peppers, broccoli, or mushrooms. To spice it up, try a drizzle of sriracha or red pepper flakes.
