Perfect for game day or a casual get-together, these Chicken Philly Sliders bring together the irresistible flavors of juicy chicken, gooey provolone cheese, and sautéed peppers and onions in soft slider buns. - 2 pounds shredded cooked chicken (rotisserie works great)
- 1 cup bell peppers, thinly sliced (any color)
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 8 slices provolone cheese (or cheese of your choice)
- 12 slider buns (mini brioche or sesame buns)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and bell peppers, and sauté for 5 to 7 minutes until softened. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Add shredded chicken to the skillet and mix with the vegetables. Cook for another 3 to 5 minutes until heated through.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the slider buns horizontally, keeping the top and bottom halves connected, and place the bottom halves on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Spoon the chicken mixture evenly onto the bottom buns. Lay a slice of provolone cheese over each, then add the top buns.
- Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, until cheese is melted and tops are golden. For extra flavor, brush tops with melted butter before baking.
- Separate the sliders and serve warm. Great on their own or with dipping sauces of your choice.
Notes
