Chicken Philly Sliders recipe

Chicken Philly Sliders

  • Author: Navy Sinclair
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 12 sliders 1x

Description

Perfect for game day or a casual get-together, these Chicken Philly Sliders bring together the irresistible flavors of juicy chicken, gooey provolone cheese, and sautéed peppers and onions in soft slider buns. They’re quick to make, a guaranteed crowd favorite, and will have everyone reaching for seconds.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds shredded cooked chicken (rotisserie works great)
  • 1 cup bell peppers, thinly sliced (any color)
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 8 slices provolone cheese (or cheese of your choice)
  • 12 slider buns (mini brioche or sesame buns)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and bell peppers, and sauté for 5 to 7 minutes until softened. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add shredded chicken to the skillet and mix with the vegetables. Cook for another 3 to 5 minutes until heated through.
  3. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the slider buns horizontally, keeping the top and bottom halves connected, and place the bottom halves on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Spoon the chicken mixture evenly onto the bottom buns. Lay a slice of provolone cheese over each, then add the top buns.
  5. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, until cheese is melted and tops are golden. For extra flavor, brush tops with melted butter before baking.
  6. Separate the sliders and serve warm. Great on their own or with dipping sauces of your choice.

Notes

To reheat leftovers, pop them in the oven for a few minutes to restore that melty, fresh-from-the-oven texture. Feel free to personalize with jalapeños for heat or arugula for a peppery crunch. You can also assemble ahead for easy entertaining or meal prep.
