Description

Cheeseburger Orzo Casserole Delight is a cozy, cheesy, family-approved dinner that combines everything you love about a classic cheeseburger into a satisfying casserole. This one-pan wonder is full of savory beef, tender orzo, and creamy cheddar, baked to bubbly perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (or use ground turkey for a lighter twist)
  • 1 ½ cups orzo pasta
  • 2 cups beef broth (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes with green chilies
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Chopped parsley, optional for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain off any excess fat.
  2. Add in orzo, beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, diced tomatoes with green chilies, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine everything evenly.
  3. Bring the mixture to a simmer. Reduce heat, cover, and cook for 10 minutes, just until the orzo is tender.
  4. Stir in half of the shredded cheddar. Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top.
  5. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and melted. For a golden, crispy finish, broil for the last 2–3 minutes.
  6. Remove from the oven, garnish with parsley if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

Watch the orzo while it simmers to avoid overcooking; it should stay slightly firm. Feel free to sub in vegetable or chicken broth if needed. This dish keeps well for up to 3 days in an airtight container. Serve with a side salad or steamed veggies for a balanced meal.
