Cheeseburger Orzo Casserole Delight is a cozy, cheesy, family-approved dinner that combines everything you love about a classic cheeseburger into a satisfying casserole. This one-pan wonder is full of savory beef, tender orzo, and creamy cheddar, baked to bubbly perfection.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef (or use ground turkey for a lighter twist)
- 1 ½ cups orzo pasta
- 2 cups beef broth (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup diced tomatoes with green chilies
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Chopped parsley, optional for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain off any excess fat.
- Add in orzo, beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, diced tomatoes with green chilies, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine everything evenly.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer. Reduce heat, cover, and cook for 10 minutes, just until the orzo is tender.
- Stir in half of the shredded cheddar. Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and melted. For a golden, crispy finish, broil for the last 2–3 minutes.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with parsley if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
Watch the orzo while it simmers to avoid overcooking; it should stay slightly firm. Feel free to sub in vegetable or chicken broth if needed.
