Description
These Caramel Apple Wontons are bite-sized delights featuring crisp golden wrappers stuffed with cinnamon-spiced apples and finished with a smooth caramel drizzle. They’re a fall-inspired dessert perfect for sharing any time of the year.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (14 oz) wonton wrappers
- 2 medium apples, peeled and diced (Granny Smith recommended)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- Oil for frying (canola or vegetable)
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Mix the diced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a medium bowl until well coated.
- Arrange wonton wrappers on a clean surface. Place one tablespoon of the apple mixture into the center of each.
- Dab the edges with water, then fold into a triangle and press the edges to seal, removing any trapped air.
- Heat about two inches of oil in a deep skillet over medium heat. Fry a few wontons at a time for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Continue frying the remaining wontons.
- Cool slightly, then drizzle with caramel sauce and sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
Store any leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat in the oven to regain crispiness. Make ahead by assembling and freezing the wontons before frying. Try topping with chocolate sauce for an extra indulgent twist.
