- 1 pound bacon (turkey bacon can be used for a lighter version)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon chili powder (optional)
- 12 slider buns or mini burger buns
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 1 cup lettuce (romaine or iceberg)
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with foil. Arrange bacon slices on the sheet.
- In a bowl, mix brown sugar, black pepper, and optional chili powder. Sprinkle over bacon.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until the bacon is crispy and caramelized. Watch closely to avoid burning.
- Let bacon cool slightly. Meanwhile, spread mayo on each bun half.
- Cut bacon if needed. Layer bacon, tomato slices, and lettuce on the bottom buns, then top with the other halves.
Notes
Add a slice of avocado for an extra creamy texture. To scale up for a crowd, simply double the ingredients. For a unique dip, mix bacon drippings with BBQ sauce.
