- 1/2 cup cake mix (any flavor you like)
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips or colorful sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line or grease a baking sheet.
- Whisk flour, cake mix, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
- In a large bowl, cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Mix in the egg and vanilla until fully combined.
- Slowly add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just mixed.
- Fold in chocolate chips or sprinkles.
- Drop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto the baking sheet, spaced about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges turn lightly golden.
- Let cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For a bolder cake flavor, choose a funfetti or flavored cake mix. Don’t overbake; take them out as soon as the edges turn golden. To freeze, scoop dough onto a tray, freeze until firm, then store in a bag. Bake from frozen with a few extra minutes.
