Brioche French Toast

  • Author: Navy Sinclair
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A cozy and indulgent breakfast, this Brioche French Toast is crispy on the outside and perfectly soft inside, made with buttery brioche and warm spices.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices of brioche bread (or substitute with challah)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk (or almond/oat milk)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for cooking)
  • Maple syrup or toppings of choice

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until smooth.
  2. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
  3. Dip each brioche slice into the egg mixture, coating both sides well but not oversoaking.
  4. Cook the soaked bread slices on the hot skillet for 3–4 minutes per side, until golden brown.
  5. Continue cooking the remaining slices, adding more butter as needed.
  6. Serve warm with maple syrup, berries, or your favorite toppings.

Notes

Day-old brioche works best as it absorbs the mixture better. For a fun twist, add nutmeg or orange zest to the mix, or top with chocolate chips or nuts.
